ChrysoberylInformation About Chrysoberyl: The name Chrysoberly is derived from the Greek word for gold, as this gem is most often found in a golden yellow color. COMMON GEM COLORS: Usually yellow to green, sometimes brown. Can be found with the ability to color change, which then classifies the stone as alexandrite. HARDNESS ON MOH'S SCALE: 8.5 SHAPES FOR CUTTING: Most commonly cut to oval, pear, and trillion shapes. Also suitable for all polished cabochon shapes.
